At this event, I presented my research study for Green 2.o on the lack of diversity in the green/environmental sector.

The biggest myths of why this is are: because of a pipeline problem, people of color don’t have an interest in the environment, and that there aren’t enough people of color to hire.

However, the data shows people of color are entering the green sector but they’re leaving, it’s not a pipeline problem, its a leaky pipeline.

Organizations are spending time and money for hiring but not retaining, turnover rates are higher for POC (people of color).
