Determine your Conference Inclusion Quality (CIQ) Score

Whether you call them conferences, conventions, or meetings the practice of bringing together professionals to learn, network, or sell are a mainstay in the private and public sectors.

But, have you ever thought about effective your conference is at bringing people together without leaving some people out?

Through some work I did studying my own conference (SIOP), a marketing conference (ACR), and an astronomy conference (AAS), I created this questionnaire you can use to measure you inclusive your conference is.

AAS had the best anti-harassment policy I have seen. They have banned repeat offenders from even attending the conference (of course, giving them due process).

But that is just the tip of the iceberg. You also need to ensure that you don’t end up having all White male presenter panels and diversity among the conference leadership.
